For children over 3. This unstructured program allows children to experiment and learn with coding and programming equipment, engineering and building toys, and some fun experiments! No registration required.

Enjoy using library-provided LEGO sets to build special projects. Tickets provided 30 minutes before program. 15 Tickets Available. Ages 6-12.

Interested in computers and technology? Hang out and learn how to code! This weekly club will start by teaching the basics of Python, a programming language. No experience needed. Equipment is provided. For kids 9 to 13.

FIRST Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in a dynamic and exciting challenge released every September. Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches. On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed.

The Aerial Drone Competition offers an exciting educational drone sporting event that focuses on hands-on, student-centered learning. Teams learn about drones, flight principles, programming, documentation and communication skills while expanding their understanding and building interest for Drone-related workforce and career opportunities.

Discovery Hall Programs hosts the annual Northern Gulf Coast regional competition for the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) ROV Competition program. In this competition, student teams, facilitated by their teachers/mentors/coaches, design, build, and test their own unique ROV before coming to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab to compete against student teams from across the Gulf coast in a series of science-based missions. This multi-day competition consists of two pool mission attempts, a marketing display poster, and an oral presentation.
