The National Robotics Challenge is designed to complement classroom instruction and provide students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in challenging and fun situations. Each contest is specifically designed to test the students’ skills and knowledge in a particular area of manufacturing, technology, robotics, and automation. The event is open to any student in elementary, middle school, high school, or post-secondary school anywhere in the world.

Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points. Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Autonomous Coding Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.

Students compete for the chance to win their names on the Thomas Cup and receive scholarships to Thomas College worth up to $10,000 over four years. Competition areas include cyber defense, esports, computer science, and crime scene analysis. All Maine high school students are welcome to participate, no matter your experience or skillsets. Thomas College professors, staff, and current students will help you succeed, learn, and have fun. Compete for scholarship money as part of this unique and rewarding opportunity!

North Dakota’s Gateway to Science STEM Adventure Mini-Camps are held during the school year on select days when there is no school, following the Bismarck Public Schools calendar. Each camp day is a new STEM adventure, filled with exciting projects and activities that guarantee fun and learning. Mini-camps run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with check-in starting at 7:45 a.m. Campers should bring their own lunches for a supervised break, along with a water bottle and snacks for morning and afternoon breaks.

The Alaska Science and Engineering Fair, Inc. holds an annual exhibition of Alaskan science and engineering projects showcasing the research and innovation of students from across the state. Any student in grades K-12 may enter a science, engineering, computer science, or mathematics project.

Robofest is a festival of competitions and events with autonomous robots encouraging students to have fun while learning STEAM and Computer Science principles. Students can design, construct, and program the robots using any robotics kit and programming language.
